The 22-year-old midfielder played the full match at Wembley, as the Cod Army secured promotion to League One courtesy of a narrow 1-0 win over Burton Albion.
“It was a great experience – to play there and to win topped off a great day all round,” said Rovers’ Academy graduate.
“It’s an amazing stadium, it’s the pinnacle of English football and to play at Wembley is the best that there can be. It was a great opportunity for me and I was delighted that we won it.
“It was quite scrappy to be honest, I don’t think it was the best on the eye, but finals can be like that sometimes. The pressure and the nerves showed, but it was great to get the win and everyone was delighted.
Morris has played 17 times since joining Fleetwood in February and picked up the Player of the Month award for April after scoring impressive winners against Cheltenham and Wycombe.
“I’ve really enjoyed it,” he added. “It’s been good to be playing on a consistent basis and getting some games. It’s been a great end to the season for me.
“It was a great award for me personally to be recognised for the month’s work, but the main thing was to get promoted and that was the aim when I went there. That was everyone’s aim and it was great to finish it off yesterday and what better way to do it.
“The last three months have been great to play in and hopefully it can be the same next season.
“I’ve not played as much as I would have liked to at Blackburn, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next. I’ll have a nice summer now, recharge the batteries and we’ll go again in pre-season.”
