Rovers youngster Darragh Lenihan earned his first cap at Under-21 level for the Republic of Ireland as they drew 1-1 with Qatar on Saturday evening.

Captain for his club at Under-21 level, Lenihan also wore the armband for the Irish as they left it late to secure a share of the spoils in the friendly in Aachen, Germany.

The new look Ireland side fell behind to a 32nd opener, but levelled in added time at the end of the game thanks to Mason Watkins-Clark's headed effort.

Lenihan played the full match for the Republic of Ireland in the centre of midfield.
