The Frenchman missed Tuesday's win over Barnsley with a leg injury, but the defender has shaken off the knock and is expected to return to the starting eleven for the Ewood Park encounter.
After the rigours of the midweek game other players within the squad will have their fitness assessed ahead of the match against Tony Mowbray's side, but there aren't likely to be any new additions to the injury list.
Speaking to the press on Thursday afternoon Steve Kean said: "There are a few bumps and bruises but nothing that will keep them out of the squad.
"We've managed to add Gael Givet which is a massive bonus to get Gael back in.
"He had quite a bad dead leg and quite a lot of swelling around his knee but the way Gael is he just gets out there and gets on with it, so it is great to have him back.
"The doctor actually thought he'd ruptured a blood capsule in his knee such was the swelling but they've worked hard with him, got the swelling under control and he's been out on the grass this morning and come through it."
Rovers will still be without Markus Olsson (hamstring), Colin Kazim-Richards (knee) and Leon Best (knee).
The manager is expected to select from: Robinson, Orr, Martin Olsson, Henrique, Givet, Lowe, Fabio Nunes, Dunn, Formica, Rhodes, Pedersen, Murphy, Dann, Paulo Jorge, Etuhu, Nuno Gomes, Rochina, Hanley, Ribeiro, Kean.
