Rovers' youngster Jack O'Connell will be hoping to feature for England's Under-19s at the end of the month.

For the central defender, who ended the season on loan at York City, has been named in Noel Blake's 18-man squad for the Euro Elite Qualifying Round in Belgium.

Fellow Rovers players Raheem Hanley and Anton Forrester have been placed on standby for the tournament.

England's first game sees the young lions take on Georgia in Bornem on Friday 24 May before they face host team Belgium in Geel two days later.

England's group matches end with a tie against near-neighbours Scotland in Westerlo on Wednesday 29 May.

For England to qualify they need to finish top of their group to progress through to the last eight of the competition, with the finals taking place in Lithuania this summer between July 20th and August 1st.
