The Rovers coaching staff have worked the players hard over the six weeks of pre-season and now with just 24 hours until the start of the new campaign it is time to put that hard work into practice.
"I think the fitness levels of the lads are fantastic," said the Rovers boss.
"We've been working very hard on the training ground and now we can't wait to get started.
"We've massively overloaded the players. At times you might look at it and think that results havent been great in pre-season but the thing is you never get those six weeks back.
"Some days the lads were out there for four or five hours training, to make sure the players were getting into games totally exhausted.
"Over time we've reduced the volume, we've reduced the intensity at the right times and I think we are looking fantastic."
Tickets for the game on Saturday are still on sale priced at £25 for Adults, £18 for Seniors/Students and £15 for Juniors.
