Gary Bowyer was pleased with his side's performance as they earned a point with a 0-0 draw against Arsenal.
When the two sides had previously met earlier this season the Gunners were comfortable 3-0 winners, but on this occasion at Leigh Sports Village Rovers were more than a match in an entertaining encounter.
"I thought the lads worked extremely hard," Bowyer told Rovers Player
after the match.
"You always know what kind of a game you are going to get when you play Arsenal, but I thought we set our stall out well, we contained them and everybody put a good shift in.
"To keep a clean sheet against them is excellent for our boys, we always start with a clean sheet and we worked very very hard to keep it, the lads did very well and Jake has made a great save at the end.
"The game was open, I thought it was a competitive game, we had our chances and could have scored a couple of goals and they've had their chances, it is disappointing that on the day we weren't able to convert ours.
"I was pleased with the effort, both teams were young and the way they went about it is a credit to both teams."
Rovers are back in Under-21 league action this Friday night when Norwich City are the visitors to Ewood Park. Season Ticket Holders can see the game for free on production of their season ticket cards. General admission prices are £4 for Adults, £2 concessions.
Kick-off on Friday is at 7.00pm, the Jack Walker Lower tier will be open.
