Following a successful trial this summer, the 21-year-old defender has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at Ewood Park, and the Rovers boss believes he could quickly become a fans favourite.
"Yann has bags of energy and is full of confidence," said Bowyer.
"He's a no-nonsense defender, he's a winner, he just wants to improve and he's a great lad. The fans will enjoy watching him play.
"He's only 21, he is going to have to get used to the pace of the English game, he's been playing out in the MLS, but he's acquitted himself very well over the period of time that he has been here with us.
"We are delighted that he has crossed the line and signed, we are just waiting on his clearance now."
