Rovers are thrilled to announce the launch of Blackburn Rovers Footee, an online football-themed education and entertainment zone for children, created around the National Curriculum. Blackburn Rovers Footee is an FA affiliated product designed and developed in partnership with UK e-learning specialist MotivatEd Ltd.
Blackburn Rovers Footee is a Blackburn Rovers-themed, online e-learning world packed full of educational football games and quests. Rewards, such as Footee’s virtual currency, special items and professional player Super Skills, are given to users upon completion of in-game achievements and can be used to enhance the child’s own playable dream team.
Blackburn Rovers Footee is designed for 7 to 14-year old fans, supported by the English FA and features the full Blackburn Rovers FC squad, as well as a host of other UK clubs. Its free-to-access games support learning in a variety of subjects from across the National Curriculum, as well as supporting development of skills in cross-curricular competences such as health, nutrition, citizenship, teamwork and digital literacy.
Loughborough University research has shown that, whilst enhancing academic skills, Footee can also be used by teachers to increase the general levels of physical activity in school children through its motivational content and virtual reward schemes.
MotivatEd CEO, Phil Clegg, said; “Advances in technology mean that many children spend time on the Internet playing games. Our aim is to encourage constructive use of this recreational time to boost educational growth and motivate overall increases in physical activity. We are thrilled to be working closely with Blackburn Rovers, a club that has an impressive heritage in terms of engaging with its passionate young fan base and local community.”
