It was disappointment for Anthony O'Connor and Burton Albion on Sunday as they missed out on a Wembley play-off final after losing 3-1 to Bradford City (5-4 on aggregate).

Leading 3-2 from Thursday's first leg at Bradford, the Brewers held a slender advantage but that was quickly overturned by goals from Nahki Wells and James Hanson either side of half time.

A penalty from Burton's Jacques Maghoma meant the scoreline was 4-4 overall but a second goal of the day from Wells ensured it was the Bantams and not the Brewers who would face Northampton Town in the Wembley showpiece.

O'Connor played the full match at right back for Gary Rowett's side, the young Irishman having played in all of Burton's league games this campaign in a big season for the 20-year-old.
