In the Lancashire sunshine the young Rovers found their goalscoring touch with four first half strikes with Luke Wall adding a brace in the second.
After Devarn Green had gone close early on it was Modou Cham who opened the scoring on 14 minutes, taking advantage of a defensive mistake to steer the ball into the far corner.
Jordan Preston missed the opportunity to make it two when he headed Ian Vicars cross straight at the goalkeeper but Green wasn't as wasteful, arriving in time to volley home Modou Cham's superb centre from close range against his former club on 28 minutes.
The visitors responded with a goal a minute later, Ian Vicars caught in possession allowing Ben Markall to reduce arrears.
However Burton had no answer as Rovers responded with two quick-fire goals before the break. A lovely passing move saw Dean Rittenberg tee up Callum Harris who finished well, before Rittenberg got on the score sheet himself, firing home on the follow-up after Cham's strike had been saved.
The second half saw Rovers put out a different side but the goals continued to flow. Inside a minute of the restart striker Luke Wall made it 5-1 after cutting inside and firing home.
On 73 Wall added his second of the game, latching onto Adrian Edo's slide-rule pass to slam the ball into the corner.
The visitors ended the match strongly, creating a number of chances, but good goalkeeping prevented Burton from adding to their solitary goal.
The Under-18s continue their pre-season preparations with a trip to Scotland next week.
