Gary Bowyer's side certainly had the better of the first half at Loftus Road with three great chances, whilst the home side the better of the second, meaning a draw was probably a fair outcome.
Speaking to Rovers Player
after the game, the midfielder said: "We've shown what we can do. We've come to one of the best teams in the league and we've got a point from them.
"It was an open game, we did well in the first half whilst they probably had the better in the second, we've come here and we've kept our first away clean sheet. We've done well, we deserved it and the boys put a shift in."
Rovers put the disappointment of the midweek defeat at Ipswich fully behind with a much improved display against promotion-chasing Rangers.
"We know it wasn't a good performance the other night, we accept that and we have to put it behind us," added Williamson.
"So to come here and get the result we did is very satisfying. Look at the players that they've got, they've got a great squad.
"So we are happy, we've come here, we've stuck to the game plan and it has worked.
"In previous games it was little individual errors, little lapses in concentration that have cost us, today we didn't have that.
"We were more organised us, we didn't let silly mistakes get on top of us and fair play to Easty he was outstanding, he made some brilliant saves."
Williamson and Rovers are back in action this Saturday when Millwall are the visitors to Ewood Park.
