The former England international was back to his best with a string of fine saves as Middlesbrough were kept at bay in a goalless draw.
Rovers were under pressure for long spells, but Robinson was pleased to take a point and with the resilience shown.
"I thought we were lucky to go in 0-0 at half-time," said the goalkeeper. "So I think we can look at it as a point gained definitely.
"The manager wasn't happy with us at half-time, we weren't at the races today. I think that was the worst that we've played this season that first half.
"Credit to the lads we did a bit better in the second half and made a game of it. It wasn't a great performance but it is definitely a point gained at a difficult place to come and play. Middlesbrough will feel a little hard done that they didn't get all three points.
"We've shown our resilience, our strength and toughness of character. When things weren't going well we got our heads down and dug in and we tried to do the simple things and defend and come away with a point."
