Jason Lowe is hoping that the club retain that feelgood factor as they prepare to face Nottingham Forest at Ewood Park on New Year's Day.
Rovers clinched their first win in seven outings on Saturday with a thoroughly professional performance at Oakwell to defeat Barnsley 3-1.
Now as Ewood awaits the visit of Alex McLeish's Nottingham Forest side, the Rovers midfielder is looking to maintain that positivity.
"Any three points is a great feeling," said Lowe after the Barnsley game.
"To get it today to end the drought is a special one, we are aware that we need to produce more of that so hopefully we can take that into the next game and be nice and positive.
"It has been a massive down for the football club at the moment and as players we take a lot of responsibility for what happens of the field.
"Of late I don't think the performances have been too bad but we've not been able to get the results, we've analysed why between ourselves and obviously against Barnsley it was about showing great character, determination and a will to work for each other and I think it paid off. We thoroughly deserved the three points."
Having been at the club since the age of 12, Lowe was only too delighted to play for Gary Bowyer once more, having played for the coach through the Academy and Reserve teams.
"It was a little bit like rolling back the years," added Lowe. "He's a great coach and a great guy and I've known him for many years.
"I'm delighted to have him on the sidelines and to get the win as well. First and foremost just to get the three points for the club, for the fans, for the team, now hopefully we can take that feel-good factor into the next game."
