12 months on from being unveiled as the club's manager, Bowyer admits he has enjoyed his first year at the helm, but insists everyone will be working even harder to ensure a successful second campaign.
“I’ve found it a fantastic challenge and I’ve really enjoyed the challenge," said Bowyer.
“I’ve loved every minute of it. I’ve had fantastic backing off the staff. They work ever so hard. The environment that we’ve created has been really positive and enjoyable to come into work. We see people working very hard, with a smile on their faces, and that’s rewarding.
“I think the supporters have been magnificent with me, as they always have been, and I’m thankful and appreciative of that.
“But we aren’t resting. We’re not stopping. We’re going to keep working very, very hard, because we’ve seen over the years what’s happened to this football club and we need to kick on.”
The squad was rebuilt throughout the 2013-14 campaign, with Rovers only just missing out on a play-off place. A 12-match unbeaten run taking them to just two points off a top six finish.
But Bowyer insists Rovers won't be resting on their laurels and knows that there is plenty more work needed to be done to get the club to where it needs to be.
"It is another big summer for the football club," added the manager. "I thoroughly believe that and it’s one that will require another lot of hard work and we’re ready for that.
"We’ll recharge our batteries, but then we’ll be ready to go again, because you’ve seen the improvements made this season and we want to kick on. That’s the challenge to the players. They’re going to be so much better for the experience that they’ve been in. They are a young group generally and they’ve got another year under their belt.
“We’re not resting on our laurels, because we know that we’ve still got a lot of rebuilding to do.
“But from a rebuilding point of view, the foundations have been laid, that’s for sure, and we can be pleased with our efforts on that front."
Season ticket details for 2014-15 will be unveiled this coming Monday, with tickets going on sale first thing Tuesday 27th May.
