Player of the Year 2016-17

Posted: Fri 21 Apr 2017

We all have our favourites ... but who has been Rovers’ standout performer this season?

Well, this is how we find out - by inviting fans to vote for their 2016-17 Player of the Year.

As always, there have been some impressive individual contributions throughout the campaign.

Goalkeeper Jason Steele has been Rovers’ only ever-present in the Championship this season, starting all 40 games and producing some heroic displays between the sticks.

Rising star Ryan Nyambe continues to grow into the role at right-back, whilst fellow full-back Derrick Williams has been a model of consistency in his debut season at Ewood Park.

Centre-backs Darragh Lenihan and Charlie Mulgrew have shown both their versatility and class, with a string of solid displays both in midfield and defence, whilst Mulgrew’s winning goals against Newcastle have provided some of the highlights of the season.

In midfield, Jason Lowe has skippered the side with dignity and determination, whilst Danny Guthrie, Hope Akpan and Corry Evans have all played their part.

From the flanks, Liam Feeney, Craig Conway and Elliott Bennett have provided countless assists and some stunning strikes, whilst up front, Marvin Emnes has produced some moments of magic, and star strikers Sam Gallagher and Danny Graham have both reached double figures and an enthralling battle for the Golden Boot!

Selection will not be easy, so get your thinking caps on and let us know your choice by voting below...

Voting will close on Wednesday April 26th. The winner will be announced at our final home game of the season against Aston Villa on Saturday April 29th.
