The trials and tribulations of Tuesday night's match against Sheffield Wednesday means that Elliott Bennett, Hope Akpan and Sam Gallagher add to Rovers' absent list.
Bennett and Akpan both serve the first match of their respective suspensions whilst Gallagher sits out the cup-tie due to a challenge that left the striker needing 12 stitches in his leg.
Boss Owen Coyle is disappointed that he'll be without the trio, making the task against the Premier League giants all the more difficult.
"It is disappointing because we've got three great lads and very good players unavailable through the circumstances of the night," the manager told Rovers PlayerHD
"I really feel for the lads as it hurts them personally and it also hurts the team.
"We want every player available so we are able to choose our strongest team. When things get taken away from you because of what's happened it is difficult to take.
"But it is what it is and we have to get on with it. They'll be there to encourage and support their team-mates."
There is better news on the injury front as Tommie Hoban returned to full training this Friday, along with Gordon Greer. But Rovers will still be without Corry Evans, Adam Henley and Elliott Ward, whilst Lucas Joao is cup-tied.
"The real positive today was that Tommie Hoban trained with the group for the first time, so that was great to get him back in amongst it," added Coyle. "We'll have to build him up, but it was great to see him back up there.
"Gordon Greer managed to train today so he is maybe one that could step back in and be available for Sunday. We'll wait to see if there is any reaction to that tomorrow.
"Corry Evans continues to get better, but he's not trained with the group yet. One or two of the long-term injured continue to get better but there's nothing in terms of them being ready for Sunday, that is far too soon."
