Blackburn Rovers Academy are to hold more of their popular keeper camps this March.

Last year the club held three hugely successful boys camps and will host further get-togethers this spring.

Previous open evenings have seen more than 70 local keepers put through their paces, so places are expected to fill up quickly.

"Feedback from our previous camps has been excellent and it is a great opportunity to find further local talent," said Academy goalkeeping coach Ben Benson.

"It gets the boys into the Academy and gives them a taster of what it is like as a young goalkeeper here.

"Local home grown talent is vitally important to us and we feel that evenings like this and our development schools will pave the way for future local goalkeepers to progress through the Academy."

The camp for those budding keepers aged Under-7 to Under-9 will be held at the club's Senior Training Centre at Brockhall on Friday 3rd March, with Under-10s to Under-13s being held a week later on Friday 10th.

The final spring camp is for boys aged Under-14 to Under-16 will take place on Friday 17th March.

These age groups are from September 1st 2016 - So as an example keepers would need to playing either in an Under-7 or Under-8 team from September.
